Walmex reports 10 percent increase in sales for 2012

Walmex, the Mexican subsidiary of America's Walmart, reported a 4.4 percent increase in its year-on-year sales last December.

The figure shows sales totalling $3.94 billion, while sales for the whole year increased by 10 percent, compared to 2011.

During December, the company opened 76 new stores, adding almost 8 percent to its consolidated selling space.
