Guatemala Gallo beer wins gold quality label

Guatemala's Gallo beer brand, by brewer Cervecería Centro Americana, won the gold quality label from Belgium's Monde Selection awards.

Monde Selections gives gold quality labels to products that score between 80 and 89 percent in its evaluation.

The beer's quality has earned it 29 medals in different categories throughout its history, said Cervercería Centro Americana spokesperson Rodrigo Gavarrete.
